anime con-carne, oh god what have i gotten myself into

Dropping the ball (IE: ANIME CON-CARNE!)
So I've yet to make an official post on Anime-Con Carne. This would be that post.

ANIME CON-CARNE

WHAT: Anime Con-Carne Pretty much just another "Cosplay Picnic" but with a better name.

WHEN: October 6th. 7am till dusk (and possibly after, just not at the park. I'm still working on those details.)

WHERE: ANTHONY C. BEILENSON PARK (FORMERLY BALBOA PARK)

WHY: It sure beats going to Lancaster.

WHO: You!

HOW: All I can do is organize the event. It's up to you guys to spread the word to those that you'd want there. Feel free to direct them to this LJ post or copy and past this info out. "If you build it they will come" and all that jazz. I don't expect this to be a huge event.

There are a few things that didn't work out the way I wanted them to. I wanted this to be a two day event, both the 6th and 7th. Between not being able to find a reasonable hotel and the park being fully reserved on the 7th it just can't happen "officially". Theres no reason however for people to not go to the park on the 7th to take more pictures, we just wouldn't have a central meeting point at the park.

I will be editing and updating this post with more information later today, as well as all the way up to the event.

I am planning on bringing a rather large quantity of the following things
Hot Dogs
Hamburgers
Buns
Plates
Trashbags
Water Bottles/Cooler

I honestly don't expect the amount I bring to cover everyone, but I still have no idea how many people are even planning to show up for this. If you come please bring some form of simple to eat(read: Finger foods) munchies for others.

Ideas:
Bags of Potato Chips
Potato Salad or Macaroni Salad
party plates of veggies or meats and cheeses
Crackers
Cookies
Drinks Bottles of soda are preferred over cans,
Plastic cups!
Whatever else you can think of that you wouldn't mind sharing.

If anyone has any large coolers it would be awesome if they brought them full of ice! If you do bring a food item it's best if it's a resealable container to keep insects out of it.

Edit:Two things to mention:
1. You do not have to wear a costume to come to this. The idea here is for people to get some decent outdoor type shots with nature instead of tons of people and buildings in every background.

2. There is limited seating! Bring blankets or folding lawn chairs or whatever else to sit on. Please label these with your name so it will be easier to get them back to the correct people at the end of the day.

Another Edit!: If you're traveling a long distance to get to this little event I've done some research on local hotels. That information can be found here! I'd still prefer if everyone was able to stay with friends, but I don't want that to keep anyone from coming.

Edit IMPORTANT! I just realized I hadn't mentioned this anywhere and I'd rather not have it slip by and end up getting a bunch of people kicked out of the park. There is no alcohol allowed in the park. I'd really appreciate it if you'd follow this rule as I'm dumping a bunch of time, energy, and resources into throwing this event and personally I'll be pissed off if one person ruins it for everyone.
